An idyllic summer's scene at Hanwellians saw an absorbing and good natured derby between two teams that are showing the strength in depth in the Ealing youngsters.

The Bs won the toss and chose to bat first and made an excellent total of 338/7 (net score 303). They taught the Phoenix a lesson in running between the wickets, stealing runs left right and centre while never looking like getting run out, and some superb batting throughout, especially from Shlok and Veyom in the last pair saw them give Phoenix its biggest run chase of the season in the league.

Phoenix learned the lesson well though and matched the Bs in their running. Every player contributed but special mentions to Simon who's early boundaries set a solid foundation, Amay hitting his best to shots of the season in his last two balls, but it was the 4th pair of Dev and Cole who looked like they'd batted together for years running like a metronome and took the team to the winning line.

Special mention to Alex G who became the first U8 to play for the Phoenix this year and was awarded his cap before the game. He played well and fully justified his selection.

An excellent and fun game for both teams (and parents!)
