Our second U12 game of the season was away to Shepherds Bush. Ealing were full of confidence following their win against Acton. After losing the toss, Ealing were asked to bat first and we got off to the worst possible start. Losing 3 wickets in quick succession; Zuhayr (4), Aidan B (2) and Jack (3) meant Lucas and Sebastian were at the crease a lot earlier than we would have liked. They salvaged the score by batting positively and put together a partnership of 70. Both Lucas and Sebastian are blessed with being able to deposit the ball over the ropes and they showed that once again in this game. When Sebastian was out for 18 caught at mid off, this brought Aidan M to the crease and he played arguably his best innings in an Ealing shirt. He punished the bad balls and scored a quick fire 15. Ealing finished their 15 overs on 126/6
When Shepherds Bush went out to bat, Sebastian again bowled a hostile spell which had their opening batsman in all sorts of problems. Zuhayr was able to feed off that by getting the early wicket, and then some quick thinking from Jack helped develop a run out. With Sebastian and Zuhayr coming off after their 2 overs each, Aidan B bamboozled the batsman with his leg breaks and took 3 quick wickets to leave Shepherds Bush on 31/5 and well behind the game. Finlay Vadon, a late replacement for the injured Aryan Rao, did not disappoint. He hammered a few more nails in the coffin by obtaining 2 further wickets and didn't give away any runs in his 2 over spell. Ruben and Jack shared a wicket apiece. Jack's wicket supported by a sharp stumping from Lucas behind the sticks. He really is developing into an excellent wicket keeper. Shepherds Bush finished their 15 overs on 58/9, Ealing therefore winning the game by 68 runs
