First game of the U12 season was a game against our league title rivals, Acton. Ealing sent a strong team over to the Park Club, and after losing the toss we were asked to bat first on an overcast evening. Lucas and Sebastian opened the batting and batted beautifully for the majority of the innings. They capitalised on a few missed opportunities and scored runs all around the wicket. Fours and Sixes were running riot at the Park Club. By the time Lucas (37) and Sebastian (61) were out, the damaged had already been done and the first half of the game belonged to Ealing. We finished on 131/2 after 15 overs
When Acton went out to bat, they struggled to get their innings going with the potent attack that Ealing do possess. With the added addition of Sebastian to the bowling attack, Ealing look a formidable bowling side. Sebastian was bowling quicker than I have ever seen any other 11 year old bowl and the batsman understandably had no clue how to face him. His pace and bounce were causing huge problems. Wickets kept tumbling and Acton were never really in the chase. They finished their 15 overs on 78/5, losing the game by 53 runs
