Rain ruins proceedings at the start of Ealings innings

20 over cricket
11 players per side
4 overs maximum for a bowler
2 runs for a 'wide' and 'no ball' respectively

Captain - Alexander Le Bouedec
Wicket-Keeper - Lucas Smith / Alexander Le Bouedec

Harrow won and the toss and elected to bat. Zuhayr K and Nikhil opened the bowling and kept things tight with hardly any runs coming off the bat in the first few overs. Most runs coming courtesy of extras. With the score on 29 at the start of the 5th over, Nikhil M cleaned bowled the batsman, with a delivery that was full and straight. Alex LeB also managed to bowl a batsman a couple of overs later to leave Harrow 45-2. Harrow then put together a decent partnership for 3rd wicket, with one of their players batting through to the end of the innings and posting 56 not out. We did manage to capture a couple more wickets, one being a direct hit run out from Lucas Sm, and another from Arvin S by bowling out the batsman. However, at the end of 20 overs, Harrow had posted an impressive 157/4, with 66 of those runs coming courtesy of extras. Still an area of concern

So at the half-way mark, the required run rate was 7.85, but I gave instructions to the opening batsman not to worry too much about the run-rate and just rotate the strike as often as possible. Zuhayr K and Nikhil M opened the innings with the first ball of the innings going for a bye. This gave me hope that the wicket-keeper might not be of the standard where he would be able to stop too many extras. With Nikhil facing his first delivery, he played onto his stumps, which unfortunately meant we lost our first wicket early in the innings. Not long afterwards, and with the score on 11/1, the rain came down. By the time it stopped, the wicket and outfield was far too wet. So in the interest of safety, the game was called off
