Indian Gymkhana travelled to Hanwell for what would be a good game of cricket all round. Three rain interruptions threatened to ruin proceedings, but we managed to finish the game off with another Ealing win
Arvin S, our captain for the day called correctly at the toss and opted to put the opposition into. He led from the front beautifully by displaying some effective seam bowling. He bowled with pace and accuracy. He proved hard to hit and rocked the timber three times. Aidan B and Alex G, Tom, and Jake H were the other wicket takers, each obtaining one apiece. Our effective bowling restricted Indian Gymkhana to only 289 from their 20 overs. this was helped by some decent fielding displays. The boys were backing up the throw well and they were also walking in as the bowler was running in to bowl. Arran D almost pulled off an excellent high caught and bowled chance and was very brave in trying to attempt it. Unfortunately, he didnt quite grab onto it, and the ball hit him flush on the nose. Fortunately for us all, there was no serious damage. However, i was certainly pleased with his efforts
At the half way point, I was confident that the Ealing boys would surpass the total of 289 and the boys didnt disappoint. All batting pairs played sensibly and added runs to the total steadily. There were some effective shots played by Tanush W which flew to the boundary and at the same time showed what he was capable off. Aidan B also showed that not only is he a quality leg spinner, but he is an effective shot maker. Come in at the end with Arvin S, he played some beautiful cover drives for four and ensured that we were well ahead of the target before the close of the innings
So Ealing scored 289 and only lost 4 wickets, therefore winning by 13 runs
