Hi All,
This email is to the five teams playing in these finals at North Middlesex Cricket Club as listed on the attached playlists.
You will all be most welcome on Sunday 25 July and I hope you enjoy your day. Well done for progressing to this stage of the Competition.
Before giving you key info about our Ground, we would value advance feedback from you on the likely demand for hot food. Our caterer is willing to run a food stall selling hot food – see typical menu attached. However, from past experience many visitors bring their own picnics, so demand for the food stall on the day has been low leading to wastage. To avoid this it would be a great if you could please canvass views from your team’s parents/guardians on whether they are likely to require hot food and let us know the consensus, if possible by Tuesday 20 July.

Here are a few info points which we hope will be helpful – please pass on to the parents/guardians of your teams –

Timing – as shown on the attached playlists, the first round of matches is scheduled to start at 10. Richmond do not need to arrive until 10.30 as they are not playing in the first round. All other teams should plan to arrive by 9.30 so that the organisers can hand out match balls and make sure we are all on the same page as regards rules. Our Ground will be open from 8.30.
Finding us - our address is 185a Park Road, Crouch End, London N8 8JJ. There are several other Cricket Clubs close by so it is easy to go to the wrong one! Ours is the only one with a direct access from Park Road. If you are driving south down Park Road from Muswell Hill, our entrance is on the right almost opposite Park Avenue South. An aerial photo of the Ground is attached – please ignore the references to Dynamos and All Stars!
Parking – we have a car park next to our Pavilion with around 30 spaces. We expect that to fill up quickly. If so, there is free parking available in neighbouring roads e.g Park Road and Cranley Gardens.
Hot Food – see above.
Bar – our tenants, Play On Sports, will be opening their licensed Bar for the sale of teas, coffees, drinks and a selection of crisps, chocolate bars etc. There will also be a supply of wines, beers and other soft drinks. Please note that the North Midd ground is a licensed venue so we must ask that no alcoholic beverages be brought on to the site by visitors please.
Pitches/Spikes/Bowlers’ marks – matches will be played on our 2 Non-Turf Pitches. No spikes to be used on the NTPs please. Plastic bowlers’ markers will be available so please do not scratch marks on the outfield.
Use of Nets – players are welcome to use our 3 permanent nets at their own risk so long as they treat them properly and comply with the displayed Regs. In particular, no spikes should be worn and users must be supervised by an adult.
Dogs – must be kept on leads and are not allowed in the Pavilion.
Litter - bins will be provided but it would be a great help if you could please take your litter away with you.
Chairs and tables – you are welcome to put your own chairs and tables on the outfield so long as they don’t damage it. We are very proud of our outfield – it is regularly voted the best in the Middlesex County Premier League. If you move any of our chairs, benches and tables onto the outfield for a better view please return them afterwards.
Changing Rooms – we expect players will turn up changed so no changing rooms will be provided.
Toilets – in the Pavilion which will be open from 8.30am. Ladies’ loos are upstairs; Gents are both downstairs and upstairs.
First Aid Kit – will be left out near the organisers’ area in front of the Pavilion. Hopefully they won’t be required but, just in case, directions to the nearest A and E are on our noticeboard close to the Pavilion entrance. The Competition organisers, Middlesex Junior Cricket Association are responsible for safeguarding issues on the day.
Covid Guidance – by 25 July the regulations are expected to have been lifted. Notwithstanding this, we would expect visitors to act responsibly during the day observing social distancing when they can. If ECB impose any relevant Covid requirements post 19 July, we will pass them on to you.
If there are weather problems these will be communicated to Robert Tripp (07802 579 308) who will then liaise with you via your club rep. Please assume the matches are on unless otherwise advised. All queries should be addressed to your club rep in the first instance.
Have a good day.
