Ealing travelled to Vallis Way for what turned out to be a one-sided contest. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, we posted a mammoth 411 in our 20 overs and only lost 1 wicket in the process. A substantial amount of runs came from extras, with wides and no balls being the highest scorer. But individual batting scores were as follows:
Lucas Sm (19), Arvin S (4), Jack Mc (8), Aryan R (9), Aidan B (9), Arun G (1), Jamie F (25), Tom M (4), Zuhayr (23), Alex LeB (13)
At the half way stage, it was a case of damaged limitations for Trailfinders. When they went out to bat, they initially struggled against the early pace of Zuhayr K and Jamie F. Wickets tumbled from the off, and the fielding was on point to support the bowlers. Alex LeB was excellent behind the stumps taking some outstanding catches. Direct and indirect run outs just added to Trailfinders downfall. A notable moment was when Trailfinders tried to take a quick single with the ball going directly to Arvin S at deep fine leg. Arvin S with his bullet arm throw knocked the bails off with the non-striker well short of his crease. Moments like this normally lift a team and it certainly did on this occasion. Pressure kept on building and Trailfinders lost a total of 15 wickets in 16 overs. They decided to concede 4 overs early knowing that it was getting dark and they had no chance of winning. Wickets were shared equally between the following:
Zuhayr K (2), Jamie F (3), Tom M (1), Arvin S (2), Lucas Sm (2), Jack Mc (1), Aidan B (1)
A great team effort. There really is a great togetherness between these boys. Well done!
