Ealing vs South Hampstead

After a 3 week lay off, following the fixture strike, the Ealing boys came back with a bang by putting in a clinical performance against South Hampstead. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, we started scoring heavily from ball one. The batting throughout was generally good, but we lost some wickets by some poor shot selection and average running between the wickets. We lost 6 wickets in our 20 overs and posted 290 following the deduction of runs from wickets lost. Lucas SA and Zuhayr K were the stand out batting performances with 18 and 15 runs scored respectively

With 290 on the board, we felt we were in a a strong position because our bowling this season has been very good. Wickets were tumbling at regular intervals and the South Hampstead innings never really got going. Some outstanding bowling, supported by excellent catches in the field kept South Hampstead behind the eight ball. A notable catch came from Lucas SA who had a ball struck firmly to him at extra cover. After juggling the ball, he managed to hold on. The wicket keeping of Lucas Sm and Alex LeB was on point as they took decent catches behind the stumps. South Hampstead lost a total of 17 wickets with wickets being shared between Zuhayr K (3), Lucas SA (3), Aidan B (2), Lucas Sm (2), Tom M (2), Alex LeB (1). The remaining 4 wickets coming courtesy of smart run outs. South Hampstead finished their 20 overs with 240 runs. Therefore Ealing winning by a mammoth 50 runs
