Old Actonians vs Ealing

Ealing travelled to Old A's full of confidence following their previous Gubby Allen match win against Chiswick. Aryan R who was the designated captain for the day called heads at the toss and the coin came down a head. He asked Old A's to bat first and the decision proved to be a good one as their batsman could not really get after our bowling. It was a great team effort where most of the bowlers managed to obtain wickets. Jamie F, Aryan R, Jack Mc, Tayyab M and Zuhayr K all grabbed two wickets apiece. Tom M, Arvin S and Lucas Sm also took a solitary wicket each. There were also some outstanding fielding efforts by our boys. Excellent catches, supported by a stumping, direct and indirect hit run outs all contributed to Old A's downfall. We earned ourselves 15 wickets in total, resulting in Old A's finishing on 232 after their 20 overs

Going out to bat, we were always going to play our natural game regardless if we were chasing a small or large target. The calling between the wickets was a delight to see and we were piling on the runs from ball one. We only lost 7 wickets in our 20 overs, some through a lack of concentration and others through some good bowling. We hit twelve boundaries in our innings, with five of our batsman reaching double figures; Jamie F (23), Zuhayr K (15), Paul B (10), Tayyab M (13), Jack Mc (12). Most of our boys are excellent at despatching bad balls to the boundary and long may it continue. We finished our innings on 321. Ealing therefore winning by a mammoth 89 runs
