Monday's league match against Osterley unfortunately had to be abandoned from a strong position after a heavy downpour (which is where the photo of the rainbows at Hanwell came from). Hence in our second match against them in 3 days, this time in the Cup semi-final, the team were keen to put in a good performance and luckily this time the weather held out.
In overcast conditions, Osterley chose to bat first and set a respectable total of 100 for 7, after a late flurry of wickets in the last few overs. Shivan (once again) and Luke topped the bowling figures, both with 2 wickets for 13 runs, with another very tidy performance from Jack M. A generally good display in the field was marred slightly by a higher number of extras than usually, with overthrows a concern. Tom did a great job coming into the side as wicket keeper though.
Opening the batting, Isaac and James set about the bowling with relish and their high run rate got us off to a great start, after which the result didn't ever look in doubt. Isaac hit 31, including a 6 and three 4s, and James put in his best performance of the season so far at the other end. TK came in later in the innings and hit an unbeaten 20, finishing with three 4s to round off the match in style.
Onwards to the area final!
