Ealing travelled to Brentham for what was a local derby and the first game of the season. Captain, Noah Lovell called incorrectly at the toss and Ealing were put into bat. That did raise a few eyebrows, considering it gets dark early at this stage of the season, and batting second would be a challenge in itself.
Easa and Jake opened the batting and they started off steadily against some good early bowling from Brentham. Jake got bowled early on to a decent delivery but this did not curtail Ealing's chances of putting a decent total on the board. Easa and Noah still played with the attitude that "we are still in charge" and played some positive cricketing shots. This helped Ealing propel to 116/2 of the allotted 15 overs. Easa finishing with 43 not out and Noah scoring a quick fire 21 before getting out late on in the innings after trying to elevate the scoring rate
First half of the innings belonged to Ealing. With a initial required run rate of 7.73, Brentham were going to have to play well to win this game. Some excellent bowling, supported by excellent fielding kept Brentham behind the 8 ball. Rohan opened the bowling and set the tone perfectly by knocking over the opening batsman early. Wickets then tumbled at regular intervals, with a combination of seam and spin and Brentham were never able to get their innings going. They finished their 15 overs 48 runs short of the total and 6 wickets down
Great to start off with a win. Next game is against Perivale on 5th May
