On Monday 10th May the Ealing U13Bs played the U13As in a top of the table clash.
The 13Bs won the toss and elected to bat. Our openers had to face a very strong bowling attack who were giving nothing away and making it very difficult to score runs. Unfortunately we lost two of our openers early for 4 runs each. Aadvik managed to hang in there and top scored for us with 30 and Dev came in near the end and scored a quick 10 but we hadn’t managed to score quickly enough and were restricted to a score of 62/6 from our 20 overs.
We knew we had our work cut out but our opening bowlers bowled really well and restricted the 13As in terms of runs and Nathan and Dev both took early wickets to give us a glimmer of hope. Unfortunately though, their batsmen settled in and they surpassed our total in the 13th over. We played well but unfortunately hadn’t posted enough runs and the team from the year above proved too strong for us on the day. It was a fun match with a great atmosphere though and I think we have learnt a lot.
