Ealing U13Bs played against an excellent Osterley U13 team that gave the U13As a very good game last week and came up a little short finishing on 101-7 chasing Osterley's 130-2. This was Ealing U13B's first full length 20 over game of the season. It began in bright sunshine with the Osterley batting being held in check by tight Ealing bowling with the score 46-0 after 10 overs. However in the second half of the innings some awesome hitting, including 3 sixes, took Osterley to 130-2 with both of the wickets being runouts! Ealing's innings also began promisingly and Ealing were 62-1 after 10 overs and definitely still in the game. However wickets fell as the boys tried to keep up with the run rate on a very slow outfield and so the match that had begun in dazzling sunlight ended in gloom, literally and figuratively. Nevertheless there was enough in the game to suggest that Ealing have every chance in the return fixture. Bring it on!
