On a very cold Tuesday afternoon/evening Ealing U15As first game was against a keen Acton side in the U15 National Cup. With Acton winning the toss and electing to bat first, Ealing knew they needed to get through the overs quickly as light was fading. Although a good partnership was formed between the Acton openers, the Ealing bowling attack limited their runs down to a minimum. With amazing bowling from the likes of Rishi and Shivank in the early overs, Ealing were dominating. Although one of Acton’s openers went on to make a 50, Ealing were still on top, limiting the runs Acton scored thanks to great bowling from Rutik, Akein and Ved. Acton finished the innings at 98 for 3.
Going out to bat, our openers Ryaan and Veer knew this total could, and needed to be chased down quickly due to the lack of light. And with an amazing partnership between Ryaan and Veer, Ealing were able to chase down 98 in just 10 overs without loss. Veer making an amazing 37 off 31 and Ryaan, scrambling for a third run secured his well deserved 51 off 37. This win for the U15s means they are through to the next round of the National cup.
