Richmond won the toss and batted first, they got off to a flyer with an opening partnership of 64 runs off overs.
William Phillips contributed 43 of those runs. Spin was brought on in an attempt to slow down the run rate and hopefully take some wickets in the process. The plan had worked as the spin team managed to restrict Phillips from facing many balls while taking wicket at regular intervals.
Kristain Martin and Andrew Laws picked 3 wickets each whilst Ashley Sivarajah and Ryan Farrell picked up 2 and 1 wickets
respectively. Chad Barrett claimed the last wicket of Phillips on 99 in the 49th over leaving the E-men a total 193 to chase.
Ealing had another new opening partnership with the bat as Oli Wilkin picked up an injury in the field, the corfton roaders didnt get off to the start they would have wanted with Chad Barret getting out within the first few overs.
Bailey Capel and Tom Shaw looked to rebuild but unfortunately there was mix up leading to bailey getting run out, which was shortly followed by Tom Shaw being judged Lbw off Dave Burton. Mylo Wilkin and Ryan Farrel put on a 50 partnership bringing the chase to less than 100 runs with exactly half the overs left to bat. Mylo and Andrew added 32 and 19 respectively leaving 57 runs needed to win.
Next in to bat was Robbie Connely 25* for only his second innings for the 1st XI. He was a duck that takes to water as he supported Ryan Farrel 80* to see Ealing home. I havent given Ryan much credit in this match report, but he timed his innings perfectly wihtout giving the opposition as sniff. A good all round performance just what the boys needed before their natoinal knockout game against Radlett the following day.
