The England & Wales Cricket Board has announced a further update on their guidance to Clubs regarding the use of their facilities. We are now able to use all of our practice net facilities.
Availability of Nets
This means, with immediate effect, the availability of the Corfton Road nets for use by Members is as follows:
Due to Club training and the holiday camps, the practice nets are not available for use by members on Mondays to Thursdays inclusive.
The nets at Popesfield will also continue not to be available for members’ bookings
What you must bring with you and what should you do when you are at the Club
Users of the practice net facilities should bring anything they are going to use with them, including:
Cricket equipment
Members should avoid sharing any of these items with anyone else, other than a member of their household.
Members coming to Corfton Road should use the Main Gate in Corfton Road when they arrive. Due to ongoing work at the Club, the Main Gate may be closed for a period of several days, in which case entry to the ground should be via the Axbey Gate further up Corfton Road.
Please try to avoid touching any gate when entering the ground. If members are using the nets, they are requested to go over to the net area directly. Members should ideally arrive not more than 5 minutes before their designated time.
Sessions will last 50 minutes and there will be a 10 minute gap between the end of one session and the start of the next session. Please leave immediately following the end of your session.
During sessions, batters should knock the ball back to the bowlers using their bat and should not pick up the ball.
Please note that bowling machines will be under the control of the Club’s coaches. If a member using the Corfton Road nets wishes to use a bowling machine and the coach is not using the bowling machine in their one on one lesson, then, and only with the agreement of the coach, the member may be allowed to use the bowling machine.
The bowling machine will remain the responsibility of the coach, who will responsible for setting up the machine and putting it away at the end of the day or in the event of bad weather. The coach should not allow the use of a bowling machine unless they are satisfied that the person who is to be using the machine is capable of operating the machine safely and without damage to the machine.
Please note that bowling machine balls are not provided by the Club. If a coach allows the use of their own bowling machine balls, these should be sanitised between use by different individuals.
It is important that while people are at the Club:
When you leave Corfton Road, please use the Kitchen Gate and exit onto Woodville Gardens. Please avoid touching the gate when leaving the ground.
