In a glorious setting at Bushy Park Ealing put in a fantastic performance today to beat Hampton Hill by 66 runs.
In hot and sunny conditions Ealing batted first and despite an early wicket for the Hampton attack the first pair laid great foundations with a 6 in the second over kick starting an Ealing innings full of boundaries.
Finishing on 319 Ealing compiled their highest score so far this season with an innings containing four 6’s in total and great contributions from all the batting pairs.
Ealing’s bowlers then started really well, accurate and quick, resulting in 3 Hampton wickets going down in the first over making the run chase look challenging from the start of the reply!
Ealing maintained the pressure throughout and despite some spirited efforts from Hampton batsmen they ended up falling short of the target.
Some excellent catches were held by Ealing and only 23 wides bowled compared to 29 last time so a real improvement there and although relatively good some additional focus on landing the front font behind the line potentially still required!
All round a superb effort, well done all!!
