Ealing Cricket Club
Ealing Cricket Club in West London, is one of the UK's top cricket clubs with a history dating back to 1870. The first match was played in 1871. The Club is a major part of the local community and you will always be assured of a warm welcome when visiting or joining Ealing Cricket Club.
The Club has enjoyed great success in recent years winning the Middlesex Premier League for seven seasons in a row from 2005 to 2011. ECC, as the Club is known locally, also won the Barbados Cockspur National T/20 cup in 2011. Ealing appeared in its fourth National Cup final in 2013 but ended up runners up for the fourth time after losing to West Indian Cavaliers.
There are eight senior league teams playing cricket on Saturdays. The Club has one of the largest junior sections in the county with over 400 boys and girls enjoying summer coaching from April to August. There are thirteen junior teams for boys and girls from ages 8 to 17 years. In 2010, 2011 and again in 2012 the junior section won the prestigious Victor Ludorum Trophy and the Club was named Club of the Year by Wisden Cricketer magazine in 2010.
In october 2011 the Club changed its status to a registered charity with a public benefit remit to 'provide community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for playing cricket and other sports'.
In April 2013 Ealing Cricket Club merged with Hanwell Cricket Club and gained use of a second ground at Brentfield. Hanwell CC will be known as Ealing Hanwellians CC from the start of the 2014 season.
Ealing Cricket Club is currently working with the London Borough of Ealing to secure a third ground in order to increase community participation in cricket and football and to provide a home ground for the senior 3rd, 4th & 5th XIs.
Ealing Cricket Club plan to start a Women's cricket team in 2014 and are very keen to recruit women players regardless of experience. Contact the club if you would like to get involved.
Ealing Cricket Club is Clubmark accredited to show that best practices apply to ensure that all cricket is delivered in a safe, effective and friendly environment.
