Good game against Actonians: once again boys showed character and defended a par score - scoring was tough, getting the ball off the square was proving hard with very accurate bowling. Jack came to open the batting and we lost a wicket off the first ball - Tanush came in to partner Jack, settled in and we went ok for a bit, scoring freely until Tanush lost his wicket going for a big shot. Then Jack kept losing partners all around him but held the show to get to 46 N.O., including a MS Dhoni type massive six to get us past 100. With 106 on the board and Actonians sensing a victory we had to bowl well. I decided to bowl Tom Massey through his 3 overs upfront to rattle the opposition - Tom delivered with a wicket off the first ball and kept scoring low at one end. Paul, Tanush and Ruben took turns keeping batters under check at the other end, and then comes Jack to turn the Actonian innings on its head with 5 wickets, that included a reflex action stinging return catch on his own bowling. All boys got a bowl of at least 1 over and Alex had the ball come nicely to him behind the wickets with sharp on line fast bowling. So every one had a part to play in keeping the opposition pinned down to 65! Well done boys! Tarun
