Ealing Girls U13 made it to the Southern Counties Regional Final as club representatives of the Sunrisers having defeated Upminster CC (Essex County champions) earlier in the week.
Alongside Ealing CC (Sunrisers) in the finals were Brighton & Hove CC (representing Sussex County / Southern Vipers) and Spencer CC (representing Surrey County / South East Stars) in a three-way Final.
Ealing won their first match against Brighton & Hove. A really strong batting performance, in particular by Manpreet (25) and Lana (28 not out) ensured a great win.
Next up were Surrey county winners, Spencer CC. Ealing won the toss and elected to bat first but unfortunately, we were not able to replicate the batting performance as per the first game. Our backs were up against the wall having scored 64 runs. Despite this, Ealing came out fighting with some excellent bowling (Vianna taking 4 wickets) and outstanding fielding and wicket keeping. Despite a valiant effort by the girls, it wasn't to be, and Spencer CC deservedly won the final game and with that became Southern Counties Champions.
Ealing CC finished as runners-up in the Southern Counties Final which in itself is a huge achievement. Overall, it was a great performance and a strong effort by the girls.
