Stanmore won the toss and elected to bat. Despite losing the toss, Ealing got off to a perfect start. Scott Ensom taking wickets on the 1st ball of the game and the 6th ball of the game. After such a good start from Ealing, Stanmore’s number 2 and 4 batters began to build a partnership. They managed to pull Stanmore back into being 72-2. Just as the partnership was progressing, Milo Wilkin took a tremendously fast legside stumping off Andy Laws’s bowling. Then Andy Laws picked up another wicket with a catch from Chad Barrett. Shortly after Bailey Capel took a catch of Kristian Martin’s bowling which got out Stanmore’s number 4 batter out. As Stanmore now being 87-5 and a quick succession of wickets, the momentum was comfortably in favour of Ealing. Ealing continued to press which lead to two run out’s, one by Ollie Wilkin and one by Scott Ensom. With Ryan Farrell and Ashley Sivarajah bowling tightly towards the end of the game, they ended Stanmore’s endings by bowling Stanmore out for 148. Ryan Farrell taking 2 wickets and Ashley Sivarajah taking 1 wicket.
Chasing 148, Ealing looked on top at the half way point. Oliver Wilkin and Bailey Capel opened the batting and getting off to good start. Oliver Wilkin striking the ball cleanly to pick up early boundaries. Ealing lost their first wicket as Bailey Capel departed for 2 and Ealing being 21-1. Milo Wilkin and Oliver Wilkin put on a 42 run partnership. As both batters looked comfortable at the crease, Ealing did not look like they would lose another wicket. However, as spin was very successful on this wicket, Stanmore’s first spinner got Milo Wilkin out stumped for 18. Ryan Farrell and Oliver Wilkin then had a successful 47 run partnership which included Oliver Wilkin bringing up his 50. As Stanmore proceeded with a spin attack, Oliver Wilkin got out for an outstanding 60 off 78. Chad Barrett got a good ball first up and was given LBW. With a few quick wickets and Ealing 110-4, Stanmore pursued with their spin attack. Ryan Farrell and Robbie Connelly put on 28 together which ended when Stanmore brought back on their opening bowler to get out Ryan Farrell for an excellent 43. With only 11 runs required Robbie Connelly and Andy Laws chased down Stanmore’s total of 148. Ealing won by 5 wickets Robbie Connelly finishing with 22* and Andy Laws finishing with 2*.
Ealing remain top of the League and continue their unbeaten run in the league. A great overall performance for Ealing on a spin favourable wicket. Outstanding performances with the ball from Scott Ensom: 2 wickets for 21 runs off 6 overs and Andy laws: 2 wickets for 42 runs off 7 overs.
