Match Report

Ealing U13A won the toss and decided to bat. After an early loss of a wicket, Ealing U13A’s strong batsmen took control and, in spite of some excellent fielding by the U13B boys, pushed the score along at a rapid rate.  In spite of losing a couple of quick wickets towards the end of their innings, the U13As were able to post an impressive score.  The pick of the U13A bowlers was Arthur Godsal (0-24) who bowled aggressively and beat the bat on several occasions.  All of the other bowlers suffered at the hands of the U13A batsmen.

Ealing U13B lost the key wicket of Arthur early.  However, Hal and Sam put on an impressive partnership taking to score above 50 in line in line with the required run-rate.  However, once Hal was out for an impressive 32 and Sam for 11, no other batsman was able to get into double figures as the U13A bowlers turned the screw and we ended up with a rather disappointing 88 for 6.

It proved a good learning experience for the U13B boys to play against what was a very strong U13A team. In spite of margin of the loss, the boys demonstrated good professionalism particularly in the field where they chased and stopped many more runs with a particularly strong contribution from Will Jones on the boundary.
