Match Report

I am pleased to report that the U15 Girls won at home in their first League match of the season.

Wembley won the toss and elected to bat first. In an excellent first spell, Nancy Bond (2 wickets for 12 runs from 4 overs) removed the Wembley opener (who is a County batsman) for just 4 runs. Olivia Birbeck, Preeti Kate, Ella Jackson, Caroline Handford Chmaj and Natasha Matthews also bowled tidy spells and together with some generally good fielding restricted Wembley to a reasonable but gettable total of 108 runs for 2 wickets from the 20 overs.

However, Ealing had some early set-backs in their batting reply, losing Lauren Oliver for a duck to an unfortunate "grubber". Nancy and Preeti also fell early for 6 and 0 runs respectively. However, Ealing showed excellent depth in their batting line-up with Ella Jackson scoring a very good 19 and Olivia Birbeck a superb Personal Best of 43 Not Out.

Debutant, Amrutha Temarisa, batted well to score 12 runs and Caroline saw the team over the line with a solid 3 Not Out.

A great win for the girls and thank you to Raj Kate for scoring and to the parents for their support.
