Match Report |
Ealing batted first and made 85 for the loss of 4 wickets. Although there was some good batting, we struggled to score too many runs off the bat. With a close set field and outfield not having been cut, our aggressive running between the wickets from the last match was not much in evidence. In reply, Regent’s Park made 87 for 4 in 17.2 overs to win the game. Again the bowling showed signs of improvement with the ball striking the stumps several times but failing to dislodge the bails, May Evans impressed again with 2 overs for just one run conceded and no wides. And Grace Kiely took her first ever wicket, stumped by May. Once again all the girls had a chance to bat and bowl. The fact that Regent’s Park scored more runs off the bat than we did was in part due to the fact we bowled more balls that they could hit easily. And we bowled considerable fewer wides than Regent’s Park. So overall, despite losing, it was an encouraging display. |
