Match report

Unfortunately when we arrived at Ickenham we discovered that they only had 5 players so the league fixture was conceded and we agreed to play a friendly match.

Two of our girls, Sophia Maroo and Hope Lindsay, kindly offered to play for Ickenham to even out the numbers.

Tamara won the toss and elected to bat and the Ealing Girls made a total of 93 with Phoebe Daly Jones Hannah Leathem batting very well.

In reply, Ickenham made 87 to just fall short of their target. Bowling was difficult in the blustery conditions, but Ealing bowled over 30 wides and no balls which nearly got Ickenham over the line. To be fair, in the last five overs when the pressure was on not to bowl wides, the girls rose to the occasion and we only conded 12 runs in the last 5overs. The best bowlers were Tamara Abdat and Hannah Leathem

A good performance by the Ealing girls, including the two girls who played for Ickenham. More bowling practice required.
