For many years, the annual Fireworks event has been extremely popular with our local community and has provided a welcome addition to the Club’s finances.

In November 2020, the COVID lockdown meant the event could not be held, but we were hopeful that we could resume in 2021. However, due to a number of factors, it has been decided that the event will not be held this year.

These factors include concern regarding our ability to host a safe event, with a continuing high level of COVID cases being reported. A particular issue was whether we could recruit the 100+ volunteers that we need, with many of our regular volunteers indicating that they are unlikely to be available in the current environment. In addition, the Club has, in the past 12 months, made a substantial investment in a new outfield at Corfton Road and there was a natural reluctance to risk the outfield, which is still in a relatively nascent stage of its development.
