FAQ for Venue Hire
Q: How many people can your function room accommodate?
A: Approximately 80 informally, 50 for a sit down meal and 50 for meetings and training

Q: Do you have a wedding licence?

A: No

Q: If we wanted the event catered can we organise our own caterers?
A: No. Elite catering are ECC’s caterers and all catering must be done by them.

Q: Can we bring our own drinks?
A: No. ECC has a well serviced bar. We are prepared to discuss corkage for wine and champagne.

Q: How much is it to hire the function room or grounds?
A: ECC charges a flat rate for standard parties. To give you an idea, a 40th birthday party for 80 people from 7pm-11pm in the summer will cost you £260 inclusive of VAT. To secure the booking a non-refundable deposit of £50 is required. Ground hire and training / meeting fees can be discussed dependant on your individual needs.

Q: What does my hire charge include for a standard party in the function room?
A: The hire of the venue, tables and chairs, bar staff, the cleaner, setting up and putting away the room, tea lights, use of our surround sound system with or without Spotify and an option of a large screen TV for any significant sporting events or to use for a photo slide show. The catering is a separate arrangement between the hirer and Elite Catering.

Q: Can we decorate the function room ourselves?
A: Yes.

Q: Are there any types of parties you do not do?
A: As a member’s cricket club, we are careful to strike the balance between our member’s needs and the requirement to hire out the venue. As a general rule, we do not do 18th – 21st birthdays or children’s parties.

Q: Do we get free run of the ground if we have a party here?
A: No. When you hire the function room, the ground is not part of the hire agreement. Cricket is the mainstay of the club and that dictates how much of the ground is available for use. The area in front of the clubhouse is free for everyone to use. Each hirer will be made aware of how much of the ground they can make use of dependant on what cricket match is being played, but you will find that we are very accommodating.

Q: What’s the latest we can hire the venue until?
A: As we are in a residential area, the latest we will open until is 12am Monday to Saturday, and 10pm on a Sunday.

Q: Can you recommend a DJ?
A: Yes

Q: Is parking available around the ground?
A: We have a small car park and there is plenty of parking around the ground with no restrictions at weekends and no restrictions after 5pm on weekdays.

Q: Are we allowed a marquee on the ground?
A: We only erect marquees once or twice a year. We do not do any more than that in order to protect the ground.
